Accenting Stamped Images With Colored Pencils
Hi, Debby here. I'm very much enjoying using my colored pencils at the moment. Sometimes I use them to color a whole image, sometimes just to add a few details to a watercolor. For today's card I'm accenting stamped images with colored pencils.
Beautiful Day Stamp Set has to be up there as one of my all time favorite Altenew sets! I love this set as it has beautiful leaves and sprigs which I always think look nice just lightly stamped. You also have the lovely flower which is just the right size to make an impact without overpowering everything else. I stamped three sets of leaves, two sprigs and one flower in Silver Stone crisp ink and then die cut with their matching dies. I then turned to my Altenew inks to give a base layer of detail. For the lines of the leaves I used Moss and Soft Lilac for the flower.
I used Faber Castell pencils to accent the stamped images. For the leaves, I just added light green over the main body of the leaf with a few dark green flicks here and there. I spent more time on the flower and with Kathy Racoosin and her amazing coloring skills in mind, combined purples, yellows, blues and greys.
I kept the rest of the card clean and simple. On a rectangle of white card I stamped the Hello from Amazing You Stamp Set in clear embossing ink. So that it would stand out nicely from the white, I embossed with an Antique Gold powder. I gathered the flower and leaves around the white panel and then adhered them to a kraft panel on a white card base.
