Creative Coloring with Erum: Adding Watercolor Details to Patterned Paper

Hi there!
Erum here with two cards using the Summer Garden 6×6 Paper Pack. Today, I thought I would share these cards I made for the April 2019 Release as I got a lot of emails asking me to do a video showing how I made them.
For my first card, I used one of the papers from the Summer Garden 6×6 Paper Pack with a big floral cluster. I fussy cut the floral bouquet roughly and set it aside.
For the card front, I used Aquafine Watercolor cardstock by Daler & Rowney. I started by spritzing water onto the panel and applied a light color wash of various greens and one of the blues that matched the floral fussy cut design using the Watercolor 36 Pan Set. I used the fussy cut piece as a guide to get an idea where the color shades would go.
Once the panel was dry, I adhered the fussy cut piece onto it. Then I added white paint splatters using diluted chalk paint. Next, I added black paint splatters. After this, I colored the die-cut word “hugs” from Script Words Die Set with Watercolor Brush Markers in Emerald and Desert Night. After this, I adhered an off-white offset to this die-cut so it would stand out on the busy background. To finish, I adhered a few gems.
For my second card, I used one of the papers from the Summer Garden 6×6 Paper Pack. I cut this to the size of my card front and then started applying diluted watercolor in dripping fashion. I added the colors according to the leafy vines. Once I was happy with the result, I added diluted splatters of the shades I used. Next, I added black paint splatters. To finish, I stamped the sentiment from the Weekend Doodles Stamp Set.
I love the look of these cards and I can't wait to play with the other patterned papers from the April Release. As you can see they are not hard to make so I will definitely be making more!
