Creative Coloring with Erum: Japanese Mum

Hi, friends!

Erum here today with a new card. Today's card is simple and features the Build-A-Flower: Japanese Mum Stamp Set.

As you can see, the layout is fairly simple and can be easily replicated. I started by heat embossing the Japanese Mum flower on watercolor cardstock with Pure White Embossing Powder. Next, I used Rubellite and Rouge Watercolor Brush Markers to color the petals. I spread these colors with the help of a water brush.

For the leaves, I used Moss and Limeade Watercolor Brush Markers.

For the background, I used Lagoon and Limeade Watercolor Brush Markers to create a light color wash base to lay my floral arrangement on. Once this panel was dry, I also added fine black splatters.

While die cutting the flower out, my die slipped a little and cut into the stamped image. I had to alter the image a bit and change my layout. This I did by adding a large sentiment label and sticking the floral image under it to hide the flaw.

To finish, I added a few enamel dots from the Green Fields Enamel Dots Set.
