Creative Coloring with Erum: No-Line Watercolor on Build-A-Flower: Cattleya

Hi there! Erum here with another dose of Creative Coloring with Erum. Today I will be sharing another no-line watercolor card but this time I will color a slightly difficult image. My card features the Build-A-Flower: Cattleya which I have colored using the Watercolor 36 Pan Set. I started by stamping the image in antique linen distress ink since it is water-reactive and won't show prominently after watercolor.
Next, I used a light wash of Crimson watercolor to add a layer of color to the petals. I also added a more concentrated pigment of the same color to show depth. For adding more depth, I used Grapevine watercolor. To add interest, I also added a tiny bit of yellow. For the green portions, I used Bamboo, Frayed Leaf, and Evergreen watercolors.
Once I was done coloring the flowers, I doodled stamens. Next, I added a light color wash of greens and a bit of yellow. Also, to add a bit of texture to the background, I added splatters of Forest Glades and Jet Black Watercolor.
Once the watercolor was dry, I added splatters of diluted white chalk paint. For the sentiment, I stamped it on a piece of cardstock and cut it to size. This, I adhered to the card front with foam tape.
To finish, I added a few crystals.
