Creative Coloring with Erum: Watercolor by Ink Smooshing

Hi everyone! Today I have a quick Creative Coloring session for you guys where I will watercolor my images with the Watercolor Brush Markers using the ink smooshing technique.

For my project today I decided to use the Wild Hibiscus Stamp Set. I absolutely LOVE the bold outlines of this set and used to use it all the time. To begin, I stamped several flowers and leaves on lightweight watercolor paper by Canson with Obsidian Pigment Ink. Next, I scribbled/smooshed some color onto the watercolor palette from the watercolor brush markers in Desert Night, Persian Blue, Turquoise, and Lagoon. After this, I sprayed the palette with water and pressed the watercolor paper onto it facing down. I heat set this and repeated the procedure until I was happy with the look.

I repeated the same step for the leaves but I changed the colors a bit. For the leaves, I used Emerald, Lagoon, and Desert Night Watercolor Brush Markers.

Next, I fussy cut the images and worked on my card front. For that, I used the Jet Black Watercolor Brush Marker and added a diluted color wash on the panel that would be my card front. Once the panel was dry, I arranged my floral elements and added fine black splatters and popped my sentiment. The sentiment is from the Sentiment Strips Stamp Set.

To finish, I added some clear drops as flower centers and as accents.
