Creative Coloring with Erum: Pencil Shading on Cattleya

Hi there everyone! Erum here today, and I'm sharing a pencil-colored card with you featuring the Build-A-Flower: Cattleya Stamp Set.

To begin, I stamped the Build-A-Flower: Cattleya with Permanent Black Ink onto a regular white cardstock. Next, I used my writing pencil to color the image. To increase the intensity of the shading, just press the pencil a bit hard on paper. In order to add light shading, I worked with a very light hand.

After I colored the image, I added fine black dots on the petals with a black pen. I love doing this! I think the flowers look beautiful and very different after I add the speckles.

Next, I die cut the image and set it aside.

I die cut a window out of my card front and another same sized panel out of Create-A-Wreath Die Set. I also die cut the Mandala Die and sandwiched it between the two layers to make my lacy window. On the front, I adhered the image that I colored with foam tape.

I also adhered a sentiment which I heat embossed on black cardstock with Pure White Embossing Powder. In order for the adhesive to not show through from the inside, I used some Glue Tape.

To finish, I added a few black paint splatters and adhered a few silver sequins.
