Creative Coloring with Erum: Sunlit Flower Card Making Kit
Hi there everyone!
Erum here today with a quick video tutorial using the very handy Sunlit Flower Card Making Kit.
To begin, I stamped the images on Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock with Permanent Black Ink. Next, I used the Artist Markers in Mango Smoothie and Cotton Candy to color the flowers.
Firstly, I laid down the yellow color from Mango Smoothie in a flicking motion, moving towards the edge of the petal. Secondly, I added a layer of Cotton Candy Artist Marker in the same flicking motion. Since I am only using the marker colors that came with the kit, I then used the Colorless Blender to soften the tips of the petals. As a result, the petals have a more finished look now. In case you want to see for yourself, you can watch the video at the end of this post and you will notice the difference in the result.
For the leaves, I only used Frayed Leaf Artist Marker. In order to get a darker shade at the midrib, I went over the area a few extra times. I also used Frayed Leaf Artist Marker to color the flower centers.
Next, I fussy cut the images and set them aside. I took out a pre-scored note card from the Sunlit Flower Card Making Kit and folded it in half; this will be my card front. I added a few black paint splatters on the front using the Watercolor 36 Pan Set. Next, I adhered the flowers with foam tape and used hot glue to adhere the leaves.
After stamping the sentiment, I die cut the solid layer of the Sunlit Butterfly Die and colored it with Mango Smoothie and Frayed Leaf Artist Marker. As you can see, the floral images have a bold black outline so the butterfly kind of looked plain against them, therefore, I added a bit of doodling to it.
After my card was complete, I worked on the envelope. I used the light grey colored envelope from the kit, I think this is the Limestone color.
I stamped one flower and the leafy sprig a few times just on one corner of the envelope. Then, I colored it in the same manner as I colored the images on the card.
You can watch the video below or on YouTube. In the video, I will also share what comes in the Sunlit Flower Card Making Kit.
