Happy Saturday, Altenew friends! This is Virginia here. I am super excited to host October's Inspiration Challenge. As we are much more home-bound than in previous years, I am looking into my surroundings even more. As the tree leaves in our backyard are starting to change colors, I am once again reminded that beauty is where you look for it. The tree photo was taken from my backyard last year, and I thought it would be awesome for our inspiration.

Lucky for me, I have the Fragile Foliage Stamp & Die Set in my stash. It is a smaller stamp set, and yet, it has so many lovely design details that you can use this set all year round.

Let's start with the background. First, I applied Honey Drizzle, Warm Sunshine, and Almond Butter Crisp Dye Inks from 1/3 top down. With the Woven Stencil and the Ink-Blending Tool, I had the best time creating a textured background.

I love the intricate leafy trees and decided to stamp them in various colors. Stamp Positioner tools such as the MISTI allow you to stamp each color at a time. Here, I used Lime, Firefly, and Snapdragon for the leaves and Almond Butter Crisp Dye Ink for the tree trunks. The inking process would be easier if you used mini cube sets. I used my regular oval sets and managed just fine, too.

I hope this tree scene inspired you to get inky. You can simply use these three subtle colors to create any floral, nature, or any other themes that you desire. You can also draw the inspiration from the photo's sketch and theme. Go ahead and step outside of your comfort zone (art-wise!), and start creating with your lovely Altenew supplies!
