How To Create Tea-rrific Dimension With No Added Bulk | Lydia’s Crafty Corner
Hello there, everyone! Lydia here. Today I'll be sharing a card that adds amazing dimension to your handmade cards without adding bulk for postage.
To start I took a piece of watercolor cardstock, and I stamped images from Tea Time Stamp Set onto it using Obsidian Pigment Ink. When I was happy with the amount of images I had, I then went ahead and colored them using Watercolor Essential 12 Pan Set. Once they were colored and dry, I then added a little more shadow using colored pencils. Then, after this was done, I cut the images using the coordinating dies.
To create the dimension, I cut a white cardstock panel to 3 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. I scored this at 1/2″, 1″, 4 1/2″ and 5″. This will create the little pop-up and the front of the card. I also cut a panel that was 3 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ to attach the pop up to. Then I stamped my sentiment. You want to do this before the pieces are attached as it makes it much easier. When the sentiment was stamped I then went ahead and adhered my die-cut images into place. You can then go ahead and add the pieces together to create the pop-up.
Before adding this onto my card base, I added a little strip of patterned paper from Essential Rock Collection 6×6 Paper Pack.
I just love how this turned out! It has so much dimension, but the pop-up can be laid flat to fit in a standard envelope.
