Shaker Card with Our Family Scrapbook Collection + Video
Hello everyone!
Erum here with a shaker card today! I have used Our Family Scrapbook Collection for my card.
It's a super simple card. Initially, I wanted to use papers but then I decided against it because this would have become VERY busy otherwise.
First, I always pull out all the elements plus the papers when I am working with a kit. I lay everything down in front of me and see which items would go well together.
Of course, the frame was the first element that caught my eye! Therefore, I picked it up and planned to turn it into a shaker element. Second, I picked out one of the corner floral designs.
After deciding my elements, I added some watercolor wash onto my front panel with Bamboo, Lagoon, Parrot and Olive Crisp Inks. After the greens were dry, I went back in to add a bit of Pinkalicious Crisp Ink as watercolor. I did this to soften the harshness of white against such bold colored elements. Coupled with colorful sequins, I knew this would work and everything will gel together.
Even though there is a lot of colors here, it still isn't busy (or to me at least). I pulled out self-adhesive chipboard alphas to spell out “hugs”. In the end, I popped up the card front onto my base with foam tape.
As you can see, I didn't do much on this card except for the watercoloring. Our Family Scrapbook Collection isn't necessarily just for scrapbooking, you can whip up quick cards as well.
Before I leave, here is a video of how I put this card together.
