Stamp Focus: Festive Foliage + Video

Hello everyone!

Svitlana here. As you may guess from the post title today we're talking about the recently released Festive Foliage Stamp Set. This set includes images to stamp a beautiful foliage tree (both one and two-colored) as well as a foliage heart to go inside of the tree. There are also several nice sentiments that go along with the stamp set's theme.

I have three cards to share with you today featuring this set.

ONE LAYER GOLD EMBOSSING

The holiday season is a busy time; we need to make a lot of cards. Mass producing often happens for this occasion and this new set is perfect for this task. And the first card idea I'm sharing today is proof of that. It's very quick and simple to make this design and it's very easy to mass-produce. It's great for mailing as well.

I started making this card by gold embossing the tree onto a red card base using the Rose Gold Embossing Powder. Next, I gold embossed a sentiment below the tree.

Then I blended the edges of the card base front using the Grapevine Crisp Dye Ink. Lastly, I lightly sprinkled it with clear water. You can see that the ink moved from contact with water and added some interest and texture to the card.

NON TRADITIONAL COLORS

My next card is a bit more complicated and more layered, but this design can also be mass-produced. Here I chose a bit of a non-traditional color scheme of red and mint. Of course, the traditional red and green combination would work here as well.

So, first, I stamped the tree layers using the Ruby Red and Ocean Waves Crisp Dye Inks onto a Solar White panel.

Next, I stamped the heart parts using the same inks onto another piece of Solar White Cardstock. After that, I die cut the heart using the matching die and popped it onto the stamped tree.

I also white-embossed a sentiment onto a red cardstock strip and popped it onto the card.

Lastly, I added several red crystals to accentuate the card.

TWO-COLORED CHALKBOARD

This idea totally spoke to me when I saw this stamp set the first time. It's so suitable for chalkboard work.

I started by stamping “tree 1″ from the set onto a Solar White panel using Ruby Red Crisp Dye Ink. Right after that, I stamped it over with the Embossing Ink and clear-embossed it using Crystal Clear Clear Embossing Powder.

Then, in the same manner, I stamped and clear embossed on top of the “heart 1” stamp.

After that, I blended Jet Black Crisp Dye Ink onto the panel covering it completely. I did a very intensive blending to basically make it black.

Next, I white embossed “tree 2” and “heart 2” onto the panel using Pure White Embossing Powder.

To add a more “chalkboardy” look, I stamped the tree and heart on top of the embossed one with a slight shift to the bottom and left using white pigment ink. And then I smudged the white ink all over the panel using a paper towel.

To finish off the card, I foam mounted it onto a white card base.
Below you can find the process video where you can see how this card was made. You can watch it here or in HD on Altenew’s YouTube channel:

Hope you liked my ideas of how you can use this awesome stamp set. It can be a great addition to your holiday stash. Especially if you like mass producing cards.

Have a wonderful day!
