Big Smile Layout

Hi there! Aimee here to share some quick and easy inky fun with you. I love today's layout and not just because it's of my sweet, precious baby girl. I love it because I get great satisfaction matching my background papers to my photo.

Now I realise I'm hardly reinventing the wheel over here. In fact Flora did a fantastic monochrome layout using the exact same stamp set and I loved Patricia's video on how to make your own pattern paper. So I'm not going to waste your time going over what they have already covered.  I will however tell you, if you are a scrapbooker you NEED this stamp set. It's so incredibly versatile.

I used it to create a pattern background paper for to match my photo. I really wanted to honor the quilt Eva sleeps on. It was handmade especially for Eva by her Great Aunt in Kentucky and sent all the way to Australia. It means an awful lot to me, but when I went to my stash to find a nice pastel paper with purple in it – one could not be found.

Even when it came to mountain of Ephemera. No Purple. Lucky Altenew has my back. It was a really quick and easy process to get out my ink sample sheet and pick the colours that matched the quilt: Lavender Fields, Cotton Candy, Frayed Leaf, Buttercream and Sea Glass.

Then it was simply a matter of using the circle stamp from the Simple Shapes set to create polkadots on my white cardstock.

I was careful to have a gradual fade out of spots because I didn't want them to appear behind my journaling. Another big bonus about stamping your own papers – total control over the design. The rest my friends is just the left overs I had from the Maggie Holmes Confetti collection. It really couldn't be any easier. So why don't you give it go. Pull out your inks and match then to your photos. Create a one of a kind pattern paper, perfectly tailored to your needs.
