Stationery Inspired Card-making
Hello friends! It's Laurie Willison here. I am stopping in today with a couple cards inspired by clean and simple stationery. I love the clean, fresh look of bright white stationery that holds a pop of color in basic shapes or even fun designs.
A recent addition to the Altenew stamp collection called Leaf Clusters called my name for this exact type of card. The different leaf patterns included in the set are beautiful and so versatile!
Pinterest is a great way to find card-making inspiration. Simply search for “stationery”, or “stationery design” or even just “graphic design”. Those searches bring multitudes of ideas and inspiration on how to plan out a basic card.
The leaves alone in the Leaf Clusters Stamp Set inspired me to create this very clean card. I used the Green Fields Ink Set and played with the greens in the set. I stamped the leaf image in Frayed Leaf and then sponged on some Forest Glades for a darker layer. The Simply Hello Die worked perfectly in the leaf image, popped up for dimension.
I noticed a trend in several styles of stationery. The midsection of the card was left blank for the sentiment or wording of an invitation. By masking off the center of the card, I was able to duplicate this look.
I used the same leaf image for this card and stamped the first round in Frayed Leaf and the second in Forest Glades. With this color addition, it gives the card dimension, while remaining a one-layer card. The Golden Trim Washi Tape and a handwritten sentiment worked well to finish off this simple card.
