Tone-on-Tone Camellia in Pink

Svitlana is here. Today I want to share a card made using the beautiful Build-A-Flower: Camellia and featuring a tone–on–tone look. I'm a big fan of monochromatic designs, but by that, I usually mean using two colors – any color and white. Which isn't technically “mono” as two colors are used.
I never dared using truly just one color as it seemed to me that everything would blend together. Until recently, when I tried such design several times and really got hooked. As you can see, you can tell one element from another, they don't blend together fully. Ok, technically there isn't only one color as I used several shades of pink and added black accents. But you get what I mean, right?
I started making a card by trimming a panel out of a Solar White Cardstock. Then I blended Frosty Pink Crisp Dye Ink onto it, covering the panel completely. I also added some splatters of the same ink (diluted with water a bit) along with splatters of the Ruby Red Metallic Ink Spray.
Next, I stamped the flower and leaves using the Cotton Candy, Coral Berry, and Ruby Red Crisp Dye Inks. I then foam mounted the flower and leaves onto the panel, which, in turn, was foam mounted onto a white card base.
Lastly, I added a sentiment from the Birthday Greetings Stamp Set white embossed onto a Jet Black strip and foam mounted in the bottom part of the panel. I used Pure White Crisp Embossing Powder for embossing and stamped the sentiment using Clear Embossing Ink.
Several black crystals finished off the card.
I hope you like the idea of this design. I hope you will agree that it does look interesting. And if you struggle with combining colors, here there is nothing to struggle about. :)
