3 Unique and Fun Ways To Use Sequins On Your Projects!

Hello, crafty friends! Sveta is here and I'm going to surprise you with my new projects where I used a brand new Altenew product – Sequins!

ARVE Error: need id and provider

I will be sharing 3 unique and fun ways to use sequins on your handmade projects.

The packaging of these gorgeous sequins is very eye-catching, so while I was looking at it and holding it in my hands I got an idea to use a clear zipped pocket and create a shaker card. Moreover, I do not have any “shaker” thing in my stash, so this was my solution! I was so excited about this!

SHAKER CARD WITH SEQUINS

First, I took the pocket and filled it with Satin White Sequins. Then, I measured a same sized patterned paper (Celebrations 6×6 Paper Pack) to cover it (pocket size + size of foam adhesive around it). For the shaker windows, I chose the big bold letters “OK” (Caps Bold Alphabet Die) and found a matching sentiment for it in the Smile More Stamp Set.Next, I used foam adhesive all around the panel to keep the pocket with sequins in place. If you will go with the full panel shaker card, it will be even easier to keep the pocket in place and adhere the panel.

CAS “SMILE” SEQUINS CARD

For my second card, I wanted to use sequins in an unusual way. I decided to gather some Satin Gold Sequins on a thread with a needle. When I put it on the card, I saw a smile and that's how I got the idea of a “smile” card (the process and the products usually provide me with card ideas).I sew this “smile” in with a needle and kept it in place with a washi tape behind the panel. For the “eyes”, I also used sequins – I just adhered them with some matte glue. The matching sentiment was also from the Smile More Stamp Set (I did partial stamping as the full sentiment was “Smile More”).

SIMPLE HOLIDAY CARD WITH SEQUIN ACCENTS

My third card is to remind you (and myself) of the classic use of sequins – as an accent! It works great for me in the combination of a neutral background and a focal point on a sentiment.First, I created a background using Diamond Snowflakes Stencil and Pure White Ink Spray, then stamped a big sentiment from the Festive Silhouettes Stamp Set using Obsidian Pigment Ink. You are probably aware that the best number of accents for the best composition is odd so I used this rule while planning where my sequins will be.

I hope you enjoyed my cards today and that you got some useful project ideas for your future creations!
