Lydia’s Crafty Corner – Ink Bleaching with Water

Hello everyone and happy Friday to you all!

It's Lydia here and today I'm sharing a beautiful tone-on-tone card using our Crisp Dye Ink and a little ink bleaching using water.

I started with a piece of 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ white cardstock and blended an ombre effect background onto it using Galactic Stream, Teal Cave, Aqualicious and Dew Drops inks. I left this to dry a little while. Then, I stamped flower clusters into place using Embossing Ink and heat set it using Crystal Clear Embossing Powder. I did do a little lazy masking by stamping the image, adding the embossing powder, then removing the embossing powder covering the previous image before heat setting.

Once I was happy with my floral clusters, I then set to work bleaching the images. I did this by using a paintbrush and painting the images. Since our inks are water-based, they react with the water and bleach the intensity of the ink.

For the sentiment, I used one from Happy Heart Stamp Set and stamped this onto a strip of white cardstock using Galactic Stream Ink. I matted this onto a piece of vellum before adhering it to my card.

For a step-by-step tutorial on how I created this card, please check out the video below or on our YouTube Channel:

Thanks so much for stopping by and I'll see you again real, real soon!

Hugs,

Lydia
