Video: Lydia’s Crafty Corner – Ink Blackout Technique
Hi there crafty friends. It's Lydia here. I'll be sharing two cards using an ink blackout technique with the beautiful Weekend Doodles Stamp Set.
I started by inking a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ panel of Solar White Cardstock with bright colors. For the first panel, I used Deep Iris, Ruby Red, Orange Cream, Warm Sunshine, Parrot, and Lagoon Inks and for the other panel, I used Teal Cave, Lagoon, Volcano Lake, and Mountain Mist Inks. Once the panels were completely dry, I stamped the large image from Weekend Doodles Stamp Set repeatedly over them using Embossing Ink and heat set it with Crystal Clear Embossing Powder.
Over the rainbow panel, I blended over Jet Black Ink and over the aqua panel I inked over Galactic Stream Ink. The heat embossing resists the ink so the bright colors still shine through. You can leave them just as they are if you like the shiny heat embossing or you can remove it. To remove it, add a piece of copy paper over the panel and then use a hot iron over it. The embossing powder will melt again and stick onto the copy paper.
I added these panels at an angle onto white card bases and finished simply with sentiments from Weekend Doodles Stamp Set.
