(Video) Gorgeous Floral Slimline Card – September 2020 Guest Designer: Jessie Banks

Hey all! I’m Jessie, a thirty-something mother to one energetic 10-year-old boy from Saskatchewan, Canada. Arts and crafts have been a love of mine for my entire life. I picked up cardmaking about 7 or 8 years ago and never looked back. I will use basically any medium on a card but am partial to watercolours, coloured pencils, and alcohol markers. I dabble in acrylics, pastels, and gouache.
I love stretching things out of the norm, be it from the layout of the card to the shape of the card, and especially, the colours! It is not uncommon for me to paint flowers in some shade they would never naturally be like blue roses, teal poppies, etc.
My Project
Today, I am combining the Beauty Within and Wallpaper Art stamp sets, using the Rose Gold Crisp Embossing Powder. Finishing it all off with Just Thanks Wax Seal Stamp, and Rose Gold wax.
I always find the look of white on black so striking and chic looking. Adding in the rose gold really set this one off the chart for me.
Stamping and embossing the florals from Beauty Within and the foliage from Wallpaper Art gave it so much sparkle and really reinforced the ghostly white painting which I did using the Artists' Watercolor 24 Pan Set.
Adding a little bit of white string and putting the imperfect wax seal over it for the sentiment really finished it off for me. I love how the seal is not centered in the wax, and it’s really just perfectly imperfect.
